Hi, using windowsxpHome, everytime I boot up the system I get a different
time. I have to re-adjust it, is the battery going 'dead' or is there
another problem?
thanks in advance

Possibly the CMOS battery on the motherboard. Check your manual for
location and a replacement.

Use the time.nst.gov to synchronize your time. Right click
the time in your system tray and then click "Adjust
Date\Time" and then the "Internet time" tab and choose the
time.nst.gov from the drop down list. Keep smiling.

:-))))))))) I always smile, thanks for the tips, I'll try that sync first if
it continues, I'll replace the battery.

I would first see if there is an update for your BIOS.
Secondly, I'd change the battery.

The problem with this is that it is always running in the
background, therefore, slowing down your system by using
system resources and holding onto it. There is a fix,
not just a bandaid, if you search for it.

That is typical of a dying battery, so that the clock has not been kept
going properly while power was off. Get it replaced before other more
vital information ceases to be retained too.
