At the risk of sounding ungrateful I had sort of figured that much out
for myself. Thanks anyway though as any help is some help as opposed
to no help :)

Nick,

I do not think that Chriss will think you ungrateful.

What are you trying to accomplish from your original post? It sounds like
you think that you have quite a mess on your hands. What does that mean? I
can think of a lot of definitions of 'mess' - all or some of which may be
completely different from your definition.

Do you have two different domains - each domain in one location - or do you
have one domain that spans two physical locations? It sounds to me like you
have two completely separate forests with external trusts between the two.
From your proposed solution it looks like you want to end up having three
domains? That is what I gather from DC1: mycorp.com DC2: site1.mycorp.com
DC3: site2.mycorp.com. I am not sure that having three domains is
necessarily the solution ( but we have so little information that we really
can not make anything but a general guess! ). Is there a specific reason for
wanting three different domains ( such as having three different password
policies - one in each domain )? Do you want to end up having one domain /
tree / forest that spans the two physical locations? If that is the case
then you would accomplish this by making use of Active Directory Sites and
Services. This is a new feature in WIN2000 that allows one domain to span
multiple locations. There is no longer a need to have multiple domains -
like in WINNT!

If you can give us some more details then we might be able to offer better
advice.

HTH,

Cary
