thumbnails

I can't get my thumbnails to come up in Windows Explorer.
Only the preview pane comes up with choosen file. The
remaining picture files in that folder come up as a box
with an image of preview imaging software. What setting
do I have wrong. If I go into properties and change to
imaging, same thing happens.
