For some reason one of my USBs has started opening showing the folders inside
as Thumbnails, rather than Icons. It is taking me so long to locate the
folders I want, as they are so spread out. I keep going to View and changing
them, but it changes itself back the next time I look. Can anyone tell me
how I can set the default to Icons? (In very simple terms please).
Thank you

Right-click the drive, click Properties, AutoPlay tab, change content
type to Mixed Content.

There's a Restore Defaults button there.. maybe that will help. And if
you click the View icon and change the view, then possibly press the
Ctrl key as you close the folder. It may remember the preferred view.

Dear Joe
I have given up trying to sort it! I followed your suggestions but my USB
still seems to want to open up showing tiles. whatever I do. The others are
fine, so perhaps this one has suddenly changed because it's getting a bit
full (only ¼ free space left). I think I will have to buy another and start
again.

Your help was much appreciated. Thank you!
Fran
