thumbnails do not show

[swamp daddy]

When I click "thumbnails" in the View options, no pictures appear. This
just started. Clicking "Filmstip" in view draws a blank too, no preview,
no thumbnails.

Is it time for a reload of XP?

This just happened to me too.

I still get thumbnail pictures for most, if not all movie files, pdf files,
and html files.

But my jpg, tif, gif, and others only show a large icon of the program that
they will open with by default.

All worked one day and then the next NoShow :-(

Any help here would be appreciated!

Generic icon is displayed for a picture file when in Thumbnail view

Thanks for the link.

I also found this on another website:

regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\shimgvw.dll,

This did work and now everything is back to normal!!
