Thumbnail view instead of Filmstrip

How can I make the default view when I open a folder to be "Thumbnail"
instead of "Filmstrip"? If I have large .tif files in a folder, it
sometimes takes forever to generate a preview and I don't really want a
preview anyway, I just want to see the thumbnails.

On the top toolbar, click View then click Thumbnails.
Again on top toolbar, click Tools>Folder Options>click Apply to All Folders
