I'm gettign the following when trying to open an access
file right from outlook as an attachement. When saved
locally it opens fine. I am using Office XP.

This file is located outside your intranet or an untrusted
site. Microsoft access will not open the file due to
security reasons..

An Intranet Site Is Identified as an Internet Site When You Use an FQDN or
IP Address:
