This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. Microsoft
Access will not open the file due to potential security problems.

Hi Sever,

Any luck? I have the same error and none of the fixes I've seen actually work.

Um, when I google this group on "untrusted site" (without the quotes),
the second result in the list says:

"The article 303650 did the trick for me. All we did was change the IE
security setting for intranet sites to include the IP range of our
internal network in the global GPO for domain computers. All is well in
IT land now."

Sever, perhaps you could tell us something about your setup. All you
have done, so far, is to quote an error message. That is really not
much to go on.

Hi TC,

I received an Access file from a friend of mine who e-mailed the file to me
from their work computer. I can access the Access file from my work computers
(which were required to avoid the Service Pack 2 update) but unfortunately, I
updated my home computer (XP Pro) worrying about security to find that my
software doesn't work the same anymore without new configurations and finding
help in discussion groups ;).

For background, I'm sharing my internet connection through a router that
randomly assigns IP addresses. So far, I've tried adding my friend's
company's website to the trusted sites and that didn't do anything. I thought
it would since the material was sent from their workplace and how would I
know any of their internal networking IP stuff anyway? I hope this was of
some help in at least showing how little I know about all of this stuff...
Thanks for any help,

Erik

Sorry, I don't have any experience of the error in question. I can only
suggest that you follow some of the goole suggestions, or post a new
topic in case someone else can help.

Good luck,
TC
