Unable to open file

I have a database I've been using for several months stored on the shared
drive at work. When I tried to open it this morning I got this message:

"MS Access cannot open this file.

The file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. MS
Access will not open the file due to potential security problems.

To open the file, copy it to your machine or an accessible network location."

I am able to access other excel files, etc. on the network drive. I was
able to open the access database from my desktop, but it is a large file that
needs to be shared with other users. Anyone know how to fix this error?
Thanks!

I used to run into this at a previous company and foud the answer (at least
for their envioronment) a bit bizarre. Close MS Access and any open files.
The solution we used was to open Internet Exlpoder(yes you read correctly)
and click on Tools--> Internet Options--> Security
Select the Internet Zone and click on custom levels. Scroll down the window
of zone settings until you find a section called Miscellaneous. Enable
"Access data sources across domains". Click OK, click Yes, and click OK once
more. try the database. If no success, reboot and then try.

Check to see if you're using Internet Explorer 7. If so, click on tools,
internet option, security. Then click on the Local intranet icon and the
sites button. Click the advanced button and add the computer to the trusted
zone like this:

file://computername
