Third party software that can pull slides from a database

I manage a huge library of slides (>2000) for a pharma company. These slides
get put into hundreds of different presentations - just mixed in different
ways. For compliance reasons, whenever a slide is updated, it needs to be
updated in ALL presentations. I was hoping for a program that can database
each slide as an individual file and "push" these slides out to
presentations. That way, I can update a slide, and it is updated in all
presentations that are linked to the database.

I have tried MANY commercially available software products without any luck.
Most seem to simply house slides on the web, but can't pull individual slides
from a database.

Is there software I am missing? I am a bit skeptical and I believe I need to
have someone design this.....but where would I go? Who would be such a MS
Powerpoint and MS Office guru that they can program within MS code?

Any insight would greatly be appreciated.

Pushing slides out to existing presentations is probably not in the cards since
you've really no way of controlling what computers the presentation makes its
way onto. But you can ensure that when presentations are generated anew by your
users (from the collection of individual slides) they'll use the latest version
of the slides called for.

I'd strongly suggest visiting http://www.intelligentdocuments.co.uk and
following the Contact Us link there. The site doesn't emphasize it, but they're
doing some very interesting work very much along the lines of what you need.

Brendon,
As Steve says the guys at Intelligentdocuments are smart. Steve and I
both know them.

If that doesn't work for you I could resurrect an Access and
PowerPoint application that my group wrote a few years ago but dropped
since Presentation Librarian came along and no one was funding my
development time.

Hey Brian,

I might be interested. Presentation Librarian was less than exciting when
did a pilot on it. How would I get in touch with you? Do you work for MS?

Brendon

Hi Brendon,
No I don't work for MS. I own two separate companies that specialize
in coding. You can email me at Brian-at-reillyand-.com
Just remove the hyphens. And label the message PPT and Access or you
might get lost in the 300+ spams I get a day.
