theres no sound

its a new computer and i have playe music on it before
but now when i try to play music the media player saysits
playing and all and the volume is all the way up but
there is no sound... there is no sound from any other
programs either... please email me i miss my tunes!!

Several things to check :

1) Right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager and
check to see if there's
any yellow triangles against your sound card. There shouldn't be on a new
PC.

2) Double click on the loudspeaker icone in the taskbar - make sure no
sliders are at minimum and nothing
is muted.

3) Think : what did you do just before the PC stopped playing music ?
Install some software (if so which one) ?

4) Dopn't forget WMP also has a volume control - is it at maximum ?
