Themes format does not publish

I'm having a repeat of a problem I had in the past (see my
post dated 9/7/03, same title as this post, currently on
page 157), but what seemed to correct the problem the last
time is not correcting it this time.

My site is at fp1.centurytel.net/CAAS. In brief, the
problem is that when I publish my site to a remote server,
the theme formatting does not publish, the site looks like
plain unformatted text. The site has published many times
successfully to this exact URL in the past, but two nights
ago when attempting to update the site, I got an error
message something like this:

"The server sent a message that Frontpage could not
parse."

The publish aborted and the remote server's web formatting
disappeared. Since that time I have attempted to publish
several times but cannot get the formatting back on the
remote server. Publishes to my on local drive are fine.

I have attempted to fix this by deleting my local *.web
files and FP temp files (which seemed to fix the problem
the last time this occurred), and I have completely
deleted the web on the remote server and republished the
entire web, but I still can't get the theme formatting to
display on the remote server.

Any help in fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

CAAS look like a folder - not a web or subweb
- I get a file not found for
http://fp1.centurytel.net/CAAS/_vti_inf.html
so it does not have the FP SE

You need to convert the folder to a subweb if your host supports subwebs and publish to the subweb

Perhaps I inadvertantly deleted the file "_vti_inf.html"
when in desperation I deleted all the files from the
remote server. If that's what happened, I might have to
have my host server re-establish the FP server extensions,
but I know they used to be there.

Prior to a couple of nights ago, everything worked fine,
and I've never published as a subweb. I'll check with my
host to see if they support subwebs. I don't mind
publishing as a subweb as long as the URL doesn't change
(it is well-established with my target audience).
However, using a subweb has never been necessary in the
past, so I'm not sure that doing so now will fix the
problem I'm having. The last time, the advice you gave me
to delete the *.web and FP temp files seemed to do the
trick, but for whatever reason, that isn't helping this
time.

I appreciate your help.

Have your host reapply the FP SE and Try a File Publish ALL
