SOMEHOW, my pages NO LONGER have navigation buttons and the titles assigne
in the navigation pane.

How do I get them back???????

If your site on the server is still correct, open the site live (choose Edit
in Microsoft Office FrontPage from Internet Explorer's File drop down menu
and Publish the site back to your hard drive.
If not, maybe someone else can lend a hand.

fingers working faster than my brain... got me in trouble.
