I am using FP 2003. I can not apply theme components
because the tool bar under themes reads: "name of the
theme (read only)". How do I change this so themes will
apply???

All the Themes that come with FrontPage are read-only,
but you can still apply themto your site.

If you want to change a read-only Theme:

1. Right-click the Theme you want to change.
2. Choose Customize.
3. Use the Colors, Graphics, and Text buttons tomodify
whatever you want.
4. Click the Save As.. button to save the modified Theme
under a new name.
5. If necessary, apply the newly-named, modified Theme
to your site.

Jim that was a good idea but that didn't work either. I
can apply the back ground, always, but the banners and
buttons don't apply. I even when into the customize part
of the buttons and activated & still won't apply???? Any
more ideas?

Are you actually applying a theme to your website or just trying to use
parts of a theme?

The banner or button won't "be there" unless you build a navigation view (View Navigation) and apply a navigation or banner (Insert
nav bar or banner)
