Themes - argh!

Z

zSplash

My webpage looks great when I create it in FP, but when I FTP it to the
site, the theme is "lost". I have expressly FTP'd it (and all the
applicable folders), after I read in the usergroups that FTP works better
than publishing on sites that don't have FP extension support. (My site
doesn't.) I'm wondering if I have to take all the theme elements out of
their underlying directories or something.

Is there any way to manually apply a background image (that is part of a
theme), and then manually insert the other theme images (i.e., bullets) so
that the great theme is available on the site? Would CSS be a work-around
the themes problem? Hard to believe FP doesn't work without special
servers -- it's such an easy program otherwise.

TIA

Use FP's FTP mode (ftp://ftp.domain.com) to publish your site to the live/remote server, use a 3rd
Party FTP application only when FP can not connect to the FTP Server.

Thanks, Thomas. I just did, but it still doesn't show the theme. Do I have
to delete everything that pertains to the webpage off the server and
re-publish it? Otherwise, any suggestions?

TIA

Try the following: Publish your local copy of your site to a new folder on your HD, then open this
new folder in Windows Explorer and delete all the _vti folders, then use your FTP application to
upload the remaining content.

If may be a good idea to clean off the live/remote server first.

Thanks, Thomas. OK. I did exactly as you said and deleted all the _vti
folders (even those in subfolders). Then, I deleted everything off the
website. Then I FTP'd everything to the website. My theme is still not
visible. Any other suggestions?

TIA

Try refreshing your browser. (View, Refresh) A asmall thing, but
I've had this happen to me before.

Thanks, wyzguy, but that didn't do it. Still, none of the theme stuff
shows. (Uffdah!)

Post a URL to the site online
- are you FTPing the _hidden folders named _themes and _derived

Thanks, Stefan. There was no folder named "_derived". I did FTP the
"_themes" folder. Should I have a "_derived" folder?

Thanks, Stefan. I have done that, but still get no theme.
Is "<meta name="Microsoft Theme" content="blocks 1011">" the Meta tag you
speak of?
