Have your hearing checked - you're even shouting here on the internet
(writing in all UPPERCASE is considered shouting. we can hear you fine
without it.)

Are the speakers powered? Is the power transformer properly plugged in and
working? Try the speakers on another computer, or another set on your
computer. Same results?

In the sound controls (double click the volume icon in the taskbar) make
sure the types of sounds you want are not muted and the volume sliders for
each type is high enough.

Has anything significant happend to or been changed about your computer at
the time the sound went bad?

If you want help here, you have to give more details. Just like going to
the doctor.

If you have regular desktop speakers, but your speaker settings are checked
for a 4-speaker setup, you will get a very faint sound, almost
imperceptible. Need to change it to the style of speakers you have.
