Sound is too low

The sound from my speakers is low even though the setings appear to be
correct and the volume is all the way up. I have 5 speakers and they play
sounds but at a low volume. The speakers are attached to a sub woofer box.
If there was something wrong with the speakers I would think they would not
play any sounds at all. Does anyone know what controls the sound volume?
(except for the volume controls).
Thanks.

assuming you have the correct device driver and setting on the PC, there are
a couple of issues you can look at:
- are the speaker the right match for your sound card or device ?
impedance and power rating should match
- if your speakers are self powered by battery: check batteries
- if your speakers don't need power adaptors nor batteries
check connection , wires and make sure you have good clean connectors
and firmly plug in place
BTW, double check the way to connect, some PC sound components specify
different usage for different jack depending number of speakers,
headphones....

My PC's sound connectors serve different function for different speaker set.
It can be so confusing that the vendor has provided a wizard to help
plugging in connectors!

Good luck
