The schema may be modified on this domain controller is greyed out

I'm trying to extend my schema for SMS 03. On the domain controller, I have
registered the .dll by Regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll. I have snapped in Active
Directory Schema. When I right click and go to Operations Master, the box to
check "The schema may be modified on this domain controller" is greyed out.
I've even found a KB article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;216060 that talks
about a registry hack, but it's still greyed.

Can anyone shed some light??

Make sure you're logged with a account belongs to SCHEMA ADMINS domain group

I am loggin on as Administrator and have verified that Administrator is a
part of SCHEMA ADMINS.

Check to see if the AD schema tool is attached to the DC you are attempting
to update. The tool itself should show you in the left hand pane which dc
it is attached too.
