The page cannot be displayed

I believe the my computer may have been affected by a
Trojan Horse virus. When downloading a new version of my
firewall (Zone Alarm), the virus came through. I restored
my computer to an earlier date and then reinstalled my
firewall.

It seemed to work, except that I can't access any websites
that require a login or that connect to a server. The
error message say, "The page cannot be displayed". I also
can't run Windows update - when trying, it says that it
cannot display the requested page.

I'm using Norton Antivirus 2003, but my subscription is
out of date -- trying to get a renewal, but again, can't
connect to the server.

Any thoughts?

Secure Sites issue:

In Internet Explorer -
1. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Settings.
3. Make sure that the two boxes are checked that say
"Enable SSL 2" or "Enable SSL 3".
Try your secure sites.

Another thing you can try is:
Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll
Press Enter or click OK
