The page cannot be displayed

Every time I try to go
to "windowsupdate.microsoft.com....or..microsoft.com web
sites I get the error..The page cannot be displayed...IE
settings seem o.k....listed as trusted sites..firewall
off. cookies enabled...cache and temp files
deleted..virus program up-to-date..no virus's
found...PLEASE HELP
 
Same here. I got it narrowed down to screwed up host file
I think.I copied a good host file from my other computer
and put it in this one.All works perfectly for about 10
minutes then it reverts right back to where it was.Tried
renaming it also but that only fixes it for a few minutes
also.......any techie got any ideas?
