The number next to the inbox is incorrect. I don't have that many

..There is a number next to the inbox on "MY Shortcuts" supposedly indicating
the number of open messages in my inbox.I only have 6 messages and the number
indicates 25. How can I reset it to read correctly.
 
You may want to first ensure you're not filtering emails. Go to your view
button on the menu, choose current view from the submenu and ensure that
messages is ticked rather than anything else. This will bring up all
messages, just in case you're filtering and don't see everything.
