ugh! that is going to be the new first question on display problems... is
it lcd or crt. too many times now everyone is giving the old answers for
crt distortion, color, fuzzy, and it turns out to be a laptop or lcd
monitor.
something that young, the standard answer is call hp and you will probably
send it back and get a new one. it is very unlikely it is the hdd, though
there is an outside chance it could be the mobo if the video is on the mobo,
though only an outside chance.
Sorry Guys, (Thank you for your responses)
I failed to mention it is an HP pavilion 150 LCD monitor one year young a
week ago.
I know HP planned it that way. <hair pulling-grrrrrrr-crrraaaaaap><throws a
fit - like my grandson>
Could it possibly be the HDD, or maybe the MoBo??????
I know it is not a loose connection
Too erratic
That the same thing I said about my windshield wiper switch. It just had to
be a loose connection, because it got like my wife, and would not even talk
to me; then hit a bump the weather change; it works; she works; go figure.
And now I'm thinking I've got a nut loose; mINe
{Nah, mine's been loose} <may be a cause of juice too, as in no UPS was on
it, but thinking it would have singed(sp?) the modem>
Fit's over (first round)

I'm working right next to this HP504n and it is rock solid right now. I
worked on it for 6 hours; complete "F" System Restore until I know it by
heart, and the last time I boot it, here it goes again.
That's why I did the "F"(in) full wipe. Brand new CD's.
Anyone,
Has anyone experience on bootup, a monitor screen being offset with a third
on the left end. Looks like an old T.V., if anyone is that old. And another
time, the top 15%. It Window looks as is it all is racing through the Cosmos
form left to right or visi versi.
Sound like a HDD puking? OR what. Man it's killing me.
Any other possibilities?
The smoking lamp is lit?
TIA,
don
