The files cannot be copied because the CD is not writable

When using "Package for CD", I get the error message "The files cannot be
copied because the CD is not writable". I have tried using new CD-R CD's and
new CR-RW CD's. Neither work. Why? Is there any way around this function?

I've seen this on systems that have Roxio's Drag and Drop installed, including
my own. That's why I killed Media Creator on my system and I use Nero. Try
using Package to Folder and then use your CD burning software to move the
contents of the folder to a CD.

Thanks Sonia. I have used "package to folder" and burned to CD from there. I
get the entire PowerPoint file, not the slide show. In other words, it will
not play on a computer that does not have PowerPoint. I am using PowerPoint
2003, Windows XP.???

Did you check the option to include the Viewer? That is required if the the
target system doesn't have PowerPoint installed.

Viewer is enabled. Still get the same error message. Note that I have tried
this on 2 different computers, both have PP2003/XP, and I get the same result

Error message? What error message? You may know what it is, but we don't.
Please share. You originally mentioned an error message, but that was when you
couldn't burn to CD. I thought we were over that hurdle. Now I'm totally
confused.

What files got copied to the CD? The list should be something like:

AUTORUN.INF
gdiplus.dll
intldate.dll
yourpresentation.ppt
play.bat
playlist.txt
pptview.exe
ppvwintl.dll
present.lst
pvreadme.htm
saext.dll
unicows.dll
