rewritable vs writable cds

I have a computer- XP and a driver that is dvd+/-writer /cd - writer. I
want to copy a powerpoint slide show to my cd-rw and it keeps spiting it out,
saying the cd is not writable? its a blank cd- i just bought it. I have
copied the same file on a dvd +R and now i want to do it on here so I can add
music over it. Help! THE CD-RW says- 12x, 700mb, 80min- the dvd+r says
4.7gb, up to 8max x- I have 26 picutures to load. Do i have too many pics
for my cd?

Maybe the CD is bad. You might try testing it on a different one.
