I am trying to upgrade my computer from XP Home to XP Pro. I get about
halfway through the installation and then the following error message pops
up. "The file VIAAGP1.SYS on VIA AGP Filter Driver Disk is needed" There is
an option to browse for the file but I can't select this becuase my keyboard
and mouse will not work. I tried starting the computer in Safe Mode but I
can't access this either. I can access the setup files but this does me no
good. I am basically stuck. All I can do is turn on my computer to have it
freeze during installation. I really need some help!

try setting your video to standard windows vga , then try the install

update your video/motherboard drivers when the install is done

The video is set to EGA/VGA which is the only option that contains VGA. I
tired rebooting again and now after a screen says setup is restarting, the
screen goes blank. I am completely stuck.

Cancel out of that message, let the install continue and when finished
re-install chipset drivers for m/b.
