xp pro upgrade problem looking for VIAAGP1.SYS

Guest

while performing an upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro, I get a message
"VIAAGP1.sys on VIAAGP Filter Driver Disk is needed". It requests a
location. Since I have no idea what this is, I press cancel and it seems to
install ok.

Does anyone know what this is about? Thanks

That sounds like the AGP video driver from VIA
Technologies. The driver is probably downloadable from
their web site and may be on a disc that was supplied with
your system. I would advise AGAINST downloading the
driver from the Microsoft Windows Update site, try going
to http://www.via.com.tw/en/index.jsp
Good Luck !
