The dreaded graph default colour/color pallete

Hello All

In our current template, which I inherited, when a new graph is
inserted, it follows the customised colours (i.e. cream, gold, light
blue etc, not the ppt ones.

I now have to create a new template and wish for it do the same.

I have done some searching in this group about it (to avoid double
posting), and it seems many people think its impossible.
Except one: see bellow
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...YIAHA.165%40cppssbbsa02.microsoft.com&rnum=15

However this requires knowledge of coding, none of which I am familiar
with.

Has anyone got knowlege, experience or advice on this matter?

Thank you
me

There are a couple of options available to you.

1) WORK FROM THE EXISTING TEMPLATE. If you use (as a
starting point) the presentation that formats your graphs
with the right colors you can retain those formatting
options. Open it in slide sorter view and delete all the
slides but one. Now, rename the presentation and save it
so you don't overwrite your original. Now go ahead and
change the background, text properties and whatever else
you need to change to create the new template. If you
already have slides that you need to adapt to the new
template, simply open both presentations in slide sorter
view and drag the new slides into the template you've
created. The slides you add should automatically take on
most of the formatting characteristics of your template.

2) CREATE THE COLORS AGAIN in a fresh presentation. Go
to "Format>SlideDesign>Color Schemes>Edit Color Schemes"
and select the color that you want to duplicate in your
presentation. Now click "Change Color". A color wheel
and slider should appear. Note RGB values (in the boxes
below the wheel) of your color and jot them down. Then
open a new presentation and go
to "Format>SlideDesign>Color Schemes>Edit Color
Schemes". The colors that you select for the four bottom
categories will be available to you for all slide
functions (including graphs). Pick one (Fills, for
example) and click on "Change Color". Again, there are
boxes for the RGB values below the color wheel. Enter
the RGB values that you noted earlier and watch your
color reappear. Repeat this for each color you want to
transfer to your new presentation.

It all sounds much more complicated than it is. Give it
a shot. Hope it helps.
