the database has been placed in a state by

Hi all,

I meet a strange problem for the Access database. We have a securied
database used for a group of 20 people. It works well for a long time, but
one day, when open the database on one of the computers with the
administrator user name, then all of us get the error message like this:

The database has been placed in a state by user 'UserName' on machine
'machineName' that prevents it from being opened or locked.

But, once the database was opened on any other computer as administrator or
ready only user before that computer, then nobody (include that computer
cause the problem) is going to have any problem to get in the database. So we
had to let that computer log out off the database to let us get into the
database first.

What should I do to avoid this noise?

Thank you very much, and happy holidays!

In the Tools / Option dialog, there is a setting for the default open
method. The choices are Shared and Exclusive. Make sure Exclusive is not
the setting.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried it for these two tabs, it does not
work for me. Actually, the structure of my form is: The main form included
several tabs, these two are in them. There is a subform under each of these
two tabs. How should I try your way to make it works.

Thank you very much.
