my outlook 2003 news reader has dissappeared from where i had it placed on
toolbar.

After checking the commands area there is no news button, unable to locate it

Outlook doesn't have a newsreader, it uses Outlook Express's

When you right click on the area next to a toolbar click on customize. Then
click on the 'commands' tab. Under 'categories' select 'Go' then on the
right side go down to where it says 'news' Drag that up to the toolbar
position of your choice.

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using Tools, customize.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for your help, it has worked.
The only problem i have now is getting the default news reader to stay in
the area for reading the news

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
