After reading your comments concerning HOSTS files I think I'll try and
get by without using mine for a while. By the way, mine is 5,373 lines
long which probably contains more than a few duplicates.
I'm not bothered with any popups or other strange happenings, likely
because of the other programs I'm using, and I don't do much off the
wall browsing.
I really appreciate the comment about maybe being able to get by with a
manual services setting for the DNS server. I like to keep the auto
stuff to a minimum.
I've been slowly rebuilding this drive after losing a
motherboard/processor and half of my 1,048 DDR ram. Didn't lose any
data, but everything is in need of attention after a reinstall of the
OS. If I'd have known about this NG before the reinstall I guess that
wouldn't have been nearly the chore it is.
