Text to Speech?

I have a friend who has lost her ability to speak. However she can still
type and would like to be able to "talk" using a Text to Speech option. I
see that there is one built into XP, and I'm trying to figure out how to
actually turn it on and use it. So far I have found an option in Excel, but
was wondering if there is a bit more chat friendly application which she
could use.

If there is something beyond the standard Microsoft options, I would
defintely be interested in that as well. I'm certainly willing to pay for it
if it will make her life easier. Thanks.

Start>All Programs>Accessories>Accesibility>Narrator>check the
first two blocks. You can also click the Help box. You have choice of
only one voice - SAM
