text problems in word 2003

I can not enter text in Microsoft Office 2003 pro. I am after reinstalling it with no difference. I also reinstalled MS Office 2000 but the same results. I am able to past info in. I am able to select in the middle of text that is already their and delete text but still can not enter any text
I had a virus " TROJ_BANKER.W" on my system but no it is cleaned up. still the same results. even after again reloading the program
I have all along keep the virus up todate "PC Cillins"

ANY IDEA'S OF WHAT MY PROBLEM IS

back again.
