text boxes

Jeremy

I am trying to change the automatic text that appears
when you insert a new text box or open a new blank
presentation. Currently when you start a new
presentation, PowerPoint will open with a default slide
layout and in the first text box it reads "Click here to
add title" and another box reads "Click here to add
subtitle." I am looking for ways to change the message.
For example, where it currently reads "Click here to add
title" I would like to change it to "Click here to insert
project team members" or anything different than the
default. I have scavanged thru the various pages of
Knowledge Base and the Help files in PowerPoint to no
avail. Please help. Thanks.

Hi Jeremy,

Placeholders cannot currently be customized. Sorry. You
can change the text directly on the slides for others to
modify.

update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the capability of customizing the text that
appears in placeholders.

Of course, if you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly that
some kind feature for creating custom placeholders and/or slide layouts
should be a built-in feature in PowerPoint, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
