Text box white shading with white fonts

mike b.

When sending PowerPoint templates to speakers, if I have
made the master to use white colored fonts on a dark blue
background - when editing the presentations the
recipients of the template complain that the edit text
box shading is white when editing white fonts - thus they
cannot see what they are editing. Any solutions besides
not using white fonts?

You need to change the background color in the color scheme as well.
Format/Color Scheme.

I bet both the background and the fonts are set to white.

Mike,

Sounds like your template has an actual background "color" of white. Doh!

You need to edit the "color scheme" to change the background color to blue,
and the text colors to white

Mike,

I have had similar problems and look for some help also.

Starting with a blank template if I use a dark colour in
the slide background and white text in a text box with 'no
fill' as background, ie transparent to background.

At some stage after I have saved a few times, the text box
displays as white text on a white background.

I have then had to reformat every text box manually by
reselecting to a 'no fill' then immediatly save the file
under a new name. It does not do it every time but when it
does its usually a presentation with 125 slides in it!

This has happened using:
Win 98 with PowerPoint 97
Win 98 with PowerPoint 2000
Win XP using Powerpoint 2002

Equipment has been laptop and desktop machines of many
differing makes and spec.

I have seen this 'white out' effect regularly, both in my
organisation and when attending other conferences.

Go to Grayscale Mode while editing. You will be able to
see the white text as black.
