Testing revisions on exisiting website

Guest

I am completely revising my existing website (including e-commerce/shopping
cart)in frontpage 2003. I have saved this all in a different folder than the
original website so that I don't disrupt current business. What is the best
way to fully test the new revisions/changes without effecting the current
site?

Thanks for any help!

If the site is hosted on a server that has the FP extensions and allows you to create subwebs /
sites, then you would publish your new site as a subweb of the current site.

Thanks Thomas. When I am certain that the new site is working correctly, do I
then publish to my current www. address and keeping all updated pages and
deleting any that are not included in the new version?
Thank you again.

When you are ready to switch to the new site, open the current site in FP, then delete everything
you can see, except for the _private and images folders, for these just delete any content. If your
database is stored within your site in the fpdb folder, then do not delete or overwrite it when you
publish the new version.
