Test Account Settings

Hello

I've vista ultimate and outlook 2007.

On performing Test Account Settings ( Outlook > Tools > Account Settings >
Change E-mail Account > Test Account Settings I get the following error :

" Send test e-mail message: The server responded: 550 Error: Message
conten "

I do not receive the test message back into my Inbox. Any solutions please.

It never got sent so you won't get a message back.

Are you authenticating with the SMTP server? IE, do you need a username and
password to send mail through the server? If so, click the more settings
button and enable authentication.

thank you for the reply.
I do not think it requires authentication. how can i be absolutely sure
about the authentication ? please tell me what are the pop3 and smtp
server details for msnews groups. thank you.

You posted this same question the next day...got pretty much the same answer
and called the guy an idiot. Sigh.

There are no pop3 or smtp server settings for newsgroups. You probably meant
e-mail server, right? Refer to my answer to your identical post on 7/2.

Assuming you means "MSN" email - they do not support POP3 and SMTP, only
HTTP or the outlook connector.
