Business and Enterprise also allow remote desktop connections. All
versions include the client, meaning they can connect to a terminal
server or other remote desktop.

the CLIENT is available on all versions of windows including win95 and up!
Even in linux you can have a client.. even on portable devices!

THE SERVER (TERMINAL SERVICES) is available only in those you said.

Why did you leave Ultimate out? lol

Because the OP already mentioned that Ultimate has it, thus my use of
*also*, as in "in addition to what has already been mentioned".

yes you are correct...i didnt notice the "also"

I want to add that all these only support ONE remote connection at a time...

if the OP wants a real terminal serverhe has to get a server version of
windows.

As I clarified in my response if the OP was looking for a version of Vista
with the RDP client then my answer stands. There is no Microsoft RDP client
for Vista Home or Home Premium,.
Also Terminal Services is NOT available on Vista - certain version allow for
a single remote desktop connection or session shadow for remote assistance.
This is not the same as Windows Terminal Services which is a Windows Server
technology.

your response is a bunch of baloney.. better stick with farming and leave
the computing to those who know what they are doing!

Ultimate has everything and the windows.vista.general group has a maggot
like yourself. If you had even a brain cell you would be dangerous.
Remember last week when your wife called the authorities after receiving a
beating from you? What ever happened? Did she file a complaint? Did you
have to report to your parole officer?

What happened with your work release program?

Just FYI, you are a right wing wacko

Thanks to all. Got some mixed signals here, tho. Let me clarify. XP Pro
included Terminal Services which would allow me to test an application that
would be accessed remotely from workstations using the client RDP. I would
like to do same testing in Vista. If Business. Enterprise, and Ultima
include TS but limit you to one remote user, that is fine for my testing.

From the answers here, it sound like that is the case. Could someone
confirm that for me, i.e., TS is on those 3 versions but limited to one
remote user connecting to it?

Thanks again,
Mark

That is totally correct.

Have in mind that there is a free alternative called VNC that can run on any
version of windows and is nice.

A good implementation of VNC is this:

www.UltraVnc.com

this consists of a client and server application...

You will have to open port 5900 on your firewall since vnc uses this by
default

VNC is what linux uses and is very good.

It's not called terminal services in the client OS arena, it's remote
desktop, but yes, it sounds like you understand.
