Hi all!
I know that quest annoy you... but i need to understood -.-
I work in a company with 3 offices, sometime we use Terminal Service (Remote
Admin) to control the servers, but we cannot use more of 3 connections
simultaneously.
What can we do to use more of 2 connections on ours windows 2000 server SP4?

Thank's for all and excuse me for my bad english :p

See ya! ;^)=

Hi Redfoxy!

How come you believe that questions like yours annoy the readers
of this newsgroup? That's what it's for!

Unfortunately, there is no way to have more than 2 concurrent
connections to a W2K server in Remote Administration mode (and 3
to a 2003 server).
If you would be able to change the number of connections without
the need for additional licenses, not many people would ever buy a
TS CAL :)

To have more than 2 administrators actually managing the same
server at the same time is anyway *not* what you want! I presume
that the problem is that you have more than 2 administrators, and
when they are not actively working on the server, they disconnect
from their session in stead of logging off.
If that's the case, educate all administrators to logoff when they
are finished, and configure a short time-out limit on disconnected
sessions, and reset them after the time-out.

That way, you can be sure that you will always have a free
connection.

Hi Vera!
Sorry for multiposting... :p

That's not a problem to get a TS CAL... We have just a "little" package of
BO CAL too :p

No, no... My problem is not that! But we need to connect more of 2

I've already do that! (with whip and carrot ^^ )
Now they don't forget to log off from TS session... but we need more of 2
simultaneous sessions for other reason

Thank's for all and see ya ;^)=

The only way to get more than 2 concurrent connections is to
switch your server to full-blown TS in Application mode. But that
changes quite a lot of other things as well (performance tuning,
to mention just one), so I wouldn't do this on a server that runs
SQL, Exchange, or anything like that. And of course you would need
a Licensing Server and TS CALs for all users, including
administrators.

I doubt very much that you want to do that, but it is the only
possibility with TS, so all depends on your needs,

When you switch to Application mode, you turn the TS into a multi-
user workstation. You will receive a warning that *all* of your
existing software and application will need to be re-installed.

And as I said, you change the internal tuning of the server
completyely, so if this server has any other server role at all,
you will definitively *not* want to do this.

It's true... I DON'T want this o.0

Thank's for all...

But... Don't exist a patch or similar to user more session in TS Admin mode?
It's very buggy :|

See ya!

You can use something like vnc for the 3rd machine,
granted it won't be thin client based but it would still
allow 3 administrators to work on the server at once.
