Terminal Server Licensing

Dave

I bought a 5 user copy of Windows 2003 which includes
Terminal Server in office in Belfast.
I am running 3 XPPro machines in Manchester and the two
offices are connected via an encrypted VPN.
The terminal server license created for the first machine
connected from manchester has just expired (120 days after
starting). I was on the understanding that the XPPro (and
W2K) client license acts as a terminal server client
license too.
Can some one verify this? Or do I need to spend £295 on
buying a 5 user license for Terminal Server?

Thanks,
Dave

No, XP Pro and W2K Pro clients do *not* get a free TS CAL when
connecting to a Windows 2003 TS. They only get a free TS CAL when
connecting to a W2K TS.

But you might be able to get a free transition TS CAL for the XP
Pro clients, if you owned the desktop licenses before 24 April
2003.

Thats brillient, thanks very much. All back up and running

Used an old copy of XPPro to get a transition license.
Cheers,
