Temporary Internet Files Question !!

Hi,

Here's my situation, I'm auditing a person's computer at work and they
deleted all of their temporary internet files. I ran ontrack data recovery
and was able to restore all of the files. Normally, when you go into IE ->
Internet Options -> Settings -> View Files, it shows website addresses and
time and dates of when they were accessed. I tried restoring the old
temporary internet files into the same folder where their suppose to be, but
when I click on view files, they aren't there. I know there's programs out
there, which monitor Internet Files, but you have to install the program
first and it will show data from the day you install it, not previous days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The display you see in response to IE -> > Internet Options -> Settings ->
View Files comes entirely from the index.dat file found in the CONTENT.IE5
file. I t has nothing directly to do with the other files that may be in
the subfolders of the TIF folder. If you restore index.dat from prior to
the deletion, you may be able to see what was in the TIF folder then.
