I want to create a template that has some unchangeable text, as well as
various boxes in which data can be entered. How do I do that?

Once this template is created, I want to be able to get from one box to the
next by pressing one button (such as tab or F9).

Is this possible?

Create a form using the FORMS toolbar text boxes/list boxes/combo boxes and
upon completion, protect the document TOOLS/PROTECT and select the FORMS:
option. Assigning a password will lock the form down so that users only have
access to the form objects in the document.

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this
