Template Basics help needed please.

Hi Folks,
This may sound a bit stupid but here goes. I am trying to build a template
for an information slip for a packaged photograph. The template would have
fields of Item Number, Name, Location, Details. These would be in one font. I
would like the information for these fields in a different font, on the word
help I have found a training session that talks about "text placeholder" but
cannot find how to use them or what they do

If you have Word 2003 or earlier, you have three main choices:

1. Create a table
(http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/concepts/tables/index.html), probably
two columns across and four rows deep. Put the labels for the fields
(the plain text Item Number, Name, Location, and Details) in the first
column. Put the information for these fields in the corresponding
cells in the second column. Each column (or each cell) can be
formatted in any way you want.

2. As in #1, but put a form field in each cell in the second column,
and then protect the document for forms

prevent accidental changes to the labels in the first column.

3. As in #1, but put a MacroButton field in each cell in the second
column, with text that says something like "Click here and type". See

If you have Word 2007, you have another choice, which is to use a
content control instead of a form field or MacroButton field.

Another possibility is to use just ordinary paragraphs of text, but to
apply character styles
(http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/stylesms/index.html) to either the
labels or the information to change the formatting of just that part
of each paragraph. But this is more work than using a table.
