temp (tilde) Word files

I have a customer who has the problem where the temp tilde) files are never
removed when the document is closed.

They open the document which resides on a file server on the network, make
changes if need be and the save and close.

This also happens if they create an new document and save it to the server.

The temp file is created on the file server in the default folder location

I have reinstalled Office 2003 from scratch --- still the same
I have searched options etc --- cant fine parameters to change

Can anyone give me a few clues in this regard

This is a permissions issue rather than an installation issue so you
should check the network permissions. Note they need delete permission
if they are modifying documents due to the temp files in the source
folder that need to be deleted.
