temp int files

I have my browser (ie6) set to automatically empty the
temporary internet files folder when browser closes each
time, yet this feature just stopped working over the last
couple of days. I tried un-checking the option in the
advanced tab of tools/internet options and re-booting
then re-checking it. All to no avail.
Does anyone have an idea to help? I'd really appreciate
it.
