Temp files created at bootup

No big deal... but was wondering what the purpose of the temp files created
by XP when booting up: example: ~DF2F7C.tmp (located in C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp)...

It's just that after a while, a few hundred of these guys are created...
from time to time I delete them...

prolly created by your firewall
