Have asked this question a few days ago - how do I rid my
pc of a very annoying cartoon which pops up with a
continuous alarm bonging telling me its time to take a
tea break?
The answers given,(run spyware software, adware software)
unfortunately didnt make any difference. Its still bonging
away every two hours.
Please help.

How? Well, you look at what programs are running or which are scheduled to
run and figure out which one is causing the annoyance and then you eliminate
it. Look for "scheduled tasks" under the control panel and if you don't see
it there bring up the task manager and dig through the programs a processes
that are running.

When it runs, bring up task manger and see what the name of it is. Then look
in add/remove programs and see if it's listed there.

I am almost certain that what you are seeing if coming from your mouse
setup. Open the mouse properties and look around for a setting you can
alter.

Do not start any programs (print this off and close all your programs.
Leave yourself at the desktop). Once you are at the desktop press Control -
Alt - Delete and you will get a security screen. Choose Task Manager
Click the processes tab
Click grey header where it says User Name.
Look down this list to find your name (Ignore Local Service, Network
Service and System)
Next to your name there will be a program ******.exe e.g. myprog.exe
You can click it and click End Task and it will stop the program from
running (this time. You will need to do it again next time)

If you want to stop it next time, check in the folders below:
c:\documents and settings\yourname\start menu
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

One of the shortcuts in these folders maybe your *bonging* problem

If there is nothing in these folders you can try the registry. I won't post
the registry part yet as you can kill your PC if you start deleting keys
from there.

If its not in these startup folders reply to this group and I'll tell you
where else to look

The problem is not in scheduled tasks, and it is not
mouse related. I have searched the task manager but
can't see anything relating to it. I will check again
once the utility starts up again. Thanks for the replies
so far.
