Hi...
I started having the same problem recently. Mine started with my system not
connecting to my dsl router. I thought it was the router that was at fault
(according to the router tech support!) and was getting ready to send it back
for replacement, when I accidently noticed that my other system was
connecting to the router just fine. After doing some research on the MS KB,
I first tried resetting the TCP/IP stack... no difference. Then I tried
resetting the Winsock2 based on the MS KB instructions. That's when I got
into real trouble. I've spent the last 9 hours trying to restore my system
back to normal. Upon booting I keep getting messages that the TCP/IP network
transport is not installed even though i can see the TCP/IP configuration
when I go to my Network Connection properties. In fact, I can even see my
system on the network and see other systems from my system, I just can't
connect to the router and I keep getting that same error message when I boot
up.

I'd really rather not do a re-install because I've got too many apps install
to re-install them if needed. But, if that's the only way to revive the
TCP/IP system, then so be it. Any thoughts???

Thanks,
Clem
