Wierd one, folks! This weekend I started up my computer which was working
just fine Friday and found that I cannot connect using Dial-Up Networking
(Message is above plus "The system cannot find the file specified" and shows
up after dialing and connecting). I figured - oh, well - let's check out
settings - went to configure my connection and found that the "LMHOSTS"
option is grayed out - can't be selected. So, I said "things are hosed up
pretty bad - maybe I should restore from a couple of days ago" and started up
the restore wizard only to be greated by a message stating that there are no
available restore points.
Now - here's the only major thing I changed recently: I installed a test
copy of Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition in dual-boot mode, so I could
take a look at the options available - and installed the release candidate of
Service Pack 1 for it. After that - everything was working fine for several
days, though...
I'm afraid it looks like I'm stuck with a "System Repair" at this point.
Any other ideas?
