How do I get the taskbar (on desktop) to go back down to the bottom,
instead
of on the side of my screen?

Right click task bar

IF necessary click context menu to unlock task bar

Use mouse to drag task bar to desired edge of screen

Drag edge of task bar to adjust width (optional)

IF desired use context menu to lock task bar again.

Tried that. It just makes the bar stretch across the screen it won't go down
to the bottom.

You maybe positioning the cursor too close to the edge of the bar. Place the
cursor in the middle if the bar, hold down the left mouse button and drag to
the bottom of the screen and release.

Answered in another newsgroup. Please do not send the same message
separately to more than one newsgroup (called multiposting). Doing so
just fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup
doesn't get to see answers from others in another newsgroup. And for
those who read all the newsgroups the message is multiposted to, they
see the message multiple times instead of once (they would see it only
once if you correctly crossposted instead). This wastes everyone's
time, and gets you poorer help than you should get.

If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup, please
do so by crossposting (but only to a *few* related newsgroups).

multiple newsgroups?" at http://smjg.port5.com/faqs/usenet/xpost.html

Maybe the OP doesn't know how to cross post from the web interface he is
using.
