came home from work to find my 5 year old has managed to move the taskbar
from its normal horizontal position to being vertical on the right hand side
of the screen!

Does anybody out there have any ideas how to sort this problem please?

i have spent the last 3 days trying to sort it but having no success,

thank you

Right click the taskbar and ensure that there is no check mark next to "Lock
the taskbar". If there is, uncheck it to unlock it. Then simply drag the
taskbar to the correct location by holding down the left mouse button on a
blank space on the taskbar and letting go when you reach the desired location.

Although by default the task bar appears on the bottom of the screen, it's
not really its "normal" position, and it can be on any of the sides you
prefer it on. To move it from any side to another, simply click on an unused
part of it and drag it where you want it. Be sure to click *within* it, not
on the edge; clicking on the edge and dragging will resize it.

If it won't move, it may be locked. In that case, right click on it and
uncheck "Lock the taskbar," then try again.
